Dear Talley Parents and Guardians,

Greetings! On behalf of our entire staff we welcome and welcome-back our students and families to Talley for the 2014 -2015 school year. We have been working diligently to prepare ourselves to inspire and challenge our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

To clarify our beginning dates and times, I offer you the following:
  • On Monday, August 25th, 6th grade students only will report to school at 7:55 AM. We will greet, share schedules with, and offer an orientation to our Talley 6th graders at that time. Pupils should enter through the main lobby and go directly to the auditorium.

  • At 7:55 AM on Tuesday, August 26th, all grade levels [6th, 7th, and 8th] will report to Talley. Sixth graders will go to their homerooms as explained to them by their teachers on the previous day [8/25/14]. Seventh graders will assemble in the auditorium. Eighth graders will go to the gymnasium, find their names on alphabetized homeroom lists, and then report to their homerooms. Staff will be on hand to assist.

  • Breakfast and lunch will be served beginning Monday, August 25th. We encourage our students to take full advantage of our breakfast program!

  • Talley faculty and staff members will be on-hand to direct and offer assistance to students as they begin our new school year.

  • Talley’s school hours are 7:55 AM - 2:55 PM.

  • Please note that parents/guardians wishing to have their students released for early dismissal must report to the main office no later than 2:15 PM.

  • We will send pre-printed Emergency Cards home with your students. Please carefully review the cards for accuracy. Should corrections be necessary please make them and have your student return the corrected card to our school nurse: Mrs. Kathleen Hodges [302-475-3980].

  • Please continue to refer to our building’s web-site for important school information.
We look forward to embracing each child’s tremendous potential as we work with families to offer our students a rigorous academic experience in a safe and pleasant learning environment. Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Best,
Richard S. Carter, Ed.D.
Principal
