REFERENDUM - TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2016
Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m
The Brandywine School District will hold four Town Hall meetings to discuss the referendum that will be held on May 17, 2016. The meeting schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, May 3 - Carrcroft Elementary School
Thursday, May 12 - Brandywine High School
All meetings will begin at 7 p.m.

8th GRADE FORMAL DANCE
May 14th – 7pm to 10pm

should be reminded that this is a dance
not a “prom” and should dress appropriately. Boys should wear shirts and ties.
Girls should not buy formal gowns; dresses are appropriate. Spaghetti straps
are allowed. We encourage any student to express their concerns about a
specific dress with an administrator during lunch.

permitted to attend. Sixth and seventh grade students may come only as the guest of an eighth grader. Students who wish
to ask a friend, other than a Springer student, must adhere to the following:
The guest must be identified to an administrator one week
prior to the dance.
A guest must be currently enrolled in a school as a middle
school student and a guest application must be completed. Names of individuals
not presently attending school will not be considered.
Administration will call the guest’s school to verify that
the guest is a middle school student in good standing.

Two teams from Springer Middle School excelled at the Junior Solar Sprint competition this month. Our teams placed 1st and 2nd in the state in the design competition, and 4th and 5th in the time trial race. The students had to build model cars to certain specifications using balsa wood and incorporating solar panels. At the event, on April 14th at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, the cars were judged on speed and engineering/design. Congrats to students Mason Ferzetti, Chris Gray, Jack Kaminski and
Nick Carlini (not pictured), Dylan Kutch, Nevon Glispy, Will Wennberg and
Evan Ciecko (not pictured) as well as instructors Michelle Dech and Jeanine Kersch!
UPCOMING STATE TESTING SCHEDULEOur state testing will begin in April and continue through May. These tests will include Smarter Balance, DCAS and STAR. Attention all 4th through 8th grade boys interested in basketball. Brandywine High School is hosting the True Blue Bulldogs' basketball camp from Monday, June 13th thru Thursday, June 16th. The camp will run from 9am to 3pm.
Springer Middle School will host the
Philadelphia NFL Alumni Youth Football camp this coming summer. They will participate in Non-Contact Football
Instruction and Fun for Kids Ages 6-14 Years Old on Monday, July 11-Friday July
15 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am daily.
