Dear Maple Lane Families,
Happy New Year! We are excited to start 2013 with great anticipation of success for all. There is a sense of determination to help every student finish the last half of the school year meeting and exceeding their academic and social goals. During this month, we will be measuring our students’ growth using the STAR. This is a computerized test used throughout the District to monitor students’ growth towards their end of the year goals. On a social note, a number of our students will be representing Maple Lane as part of our basketball team in the Elementary Basketball League and other students will be playing on our intramural teams . Please know that you are welcome to come out and cheer the students on as they have a great time.
We would also like to invite youto come out to several other events that we have planned for this month. First, come to our PTA meeting on January 9th at 6:30 p.m. to learn about the Common Core Standards and earn a N.U.T. sticker (No Uniform Today) for your child or children. Then join us for our second Chuck E. Cheese Night on January 11th from 4-9 p.m. Two other great family events you don’t want to miss will be our Annual Health Fair on January 17th at 6:30 p.m. and a special Math Night on January 30th at 6:30 p.m. to help parents get a better understanding of the Singapore Math Program.
