Concord High School offers Driver Education courses in the 1st and 3rd quarters of the academic school year. Driver Education is a 10th grade course only. All students who are beyond 10th grade must be approved by the Driver Education Department. Students will be required to pass the 30-hour classroom phase, simulation and in-car training to receive a final passing grade. The State of Delaware also requires that all students are academically eligible in order to pass Driver Education. Every student is required to have 5 passing credits in content areas outside of Driver Education. Students who are not academically eligible are not able to complete the simulation or in-car training phase. If a student is academically ineligible for 2 consecutive quarters, they will receive a failing grade for Driver Education.
