    &

    COUNSELOR BRAG SHEET

    1.      The Extracurricular Activities Sheet and Brag Sheet must be completed by student and returned to the Counseling Office.  No recommendations will be sent without the completion of this form, as counselors use this information when writing recommendation letters.

    2.      A Blue Transcript Request Form must be completed for each school and/or scholarship that is requiring a transcript. All requests must be submitted to the Counseling Office.  Six transcripts will be sent free.  An additional fee of $4.00 will be charged for EACH transcript over six.  Transcript fees not paid will result in a counseling obligation.

    3.      Read directions concerning applications:   When applying online, make sure to download all secondary school/counselor reports and any additional forms required to be completed by your counselor and teachers.

    4.      All information needing to be mailed to colleges or scholarship committees needs to be attached to the Blue Transcript Request form.

    5.      It is not necessary to supply stamped envelopes for mailing.

    6.      Deadlines are important!  The first step you should take is to determine when applications are due.  ALL requests for transcripts must be given to the Counseling Office AT LEAST TWO WEEKS before the deadline.  The Counseling Office WILL NOT be responsible for processing any requests not given two weeks before the due date.  This includes scholarships and college applications.

    7.      Students are responsible for recommendation letters required by persons other than their counselor.  These recommendation letters should be sent either electronically by the letter writer or attached the Blue Transcript Request form.

    8.      All SAT, AP and ACT scores must be sent to all colleges via the students’ collegeboard.org account.

    9.      Scholarship information will be posted in senior homerooms, senior English classes, the Counseling Office, counseling bulletin board as well as listed on the school’s website.  Major scholarships will be announced on the P.A. system during morning announcements.

    10.  Over one hundred college representatives will visit Brandywine High School during the year.  Please check the College Calendar in the Counseling Office and listen to the daily announcements on the P.A. system to sign up to meet with the college representatives

    11.  Start your financial aid process early.  All students should complete the FAFSA form as early as possible.  Your income and that of your parents’ and/or guardians (if applicable) will be required.  This process can be done online by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov.
