The renovation of Springer Middle School was completed in July of 2009, on-time and on-budget. Springer Middle School first opened its doors in the late 1950's and only minor improvements had been made since its opening. The extensive renovations included major structural and building configuration changes. The main staircase was relocated to allow for the reconfiguration of the front office in order to create secure, controlled access to the school during operating hours. Changes to the interior of the building were made to serve the education programs of a modern Middle School. Auditorium seating has been increased by over 100, the library has been expanded into a modern media center and the cafeteria has been transformed into a "food court" where there is a greater variety of menu items. All major mechanical and electrical equipment has been replaced with energy efficient components and state-of-the-art telephone, security, and building control systems have been installed. Below are a few photos of the completed project.
